General Anesthesia

General anaesthesia makes a patient completely unconscious and cannot feel any pain during the medical procedure. This type of anesthesia is not used often for ordinary dental procedures unless the patient has a high tolerance for IV sedation or are extremely anxious. General anesthesia is also used in medical procedures such as wisdom tooth extraction and other complex oral surgeries. An anesthesiologist should be consulted prior to the medical procedure to confirm if general anesthesia is indeed a good option.
